The ILSR Vendor Survey : Comparing Responses

In January 1999, ILSR sent a vendor survey to the 50+ vendors listed in our Vendor web page. To date, we have received 37 responses. The intention of the survey is to provide answers to the most commonly asked questions that we hear when visiting with librarians who are in the process of looking for an integrated library system. The following charts provide some comparisons, showing the differences and in some cases the similarities from one vendors' system to the next.

Table One:

DBMS used in development?
Is the system relational?
Is the system ODBC compliant?

Table Two:

Does the system support Z39.30?
Is the system Y2K compliant?

Table Three:

Product names?
Modules supported?
Cost?

The entire results of the survey will be made available on ILSR within the next month.
