Harry Samuels Named Digital Library Projects Coordinator : Ensures Functionality of ENCompass, Citation Server for Endeavor Digital Libraries. Des Plaines, IL, March 27, 2001. Endeavor Information Systems announced that Harry Samuels joined Endeavor Information Systems as the Digital Library Projects Coordinator. In this role, Samuels works with the Endeavor Digital Library Development staff in the timing and functionality of digital library products. Samuels ensures that Endeavor's digital library goals anticipate and reflect the needs of the changing library marketplace and adherence to emerging digital standards. Samuels is integral in Endeavor's current implementation of Open Linking Technologies into both ENCompass and the Citation Server electronic database management system.

American Electric Power Company Switches to SIRSI. Huntsville, AL, March 23, 2001. American Electric Power Company, one of the nation's largest generators of electricity, has chosen Sirsi Corporation's Unicorn Library Management System for its corporate library. According to AEP's Knowledge and Research Services Coordinator Gerry Greenwood, "We evaluated a variety of automation systems, comparing stability, reporting function, intuitive serials management and MARC record handling capability.  We determined that SIRSI best met our operational requirements."

Ithaca College Library Selects Voyager System : Pain-Free Staff Clients Demonstrate Voyager as an "Information Tool". Des Plaines, IL, March 16, 2001. Endeavor Information Systems announced today the Ithaca College Library, Ithaca, New York, has chosen the Voyager integrated library management system for the college's 300,000 volume library. Geac Announces Improved Third Quarter Performance. Toronto, Ontario, March 13, 2001. Geac Computer Corporation Limited announced today the results for the three months ended January 31, 2001. Revenues from continuing operations were $218.0 million during the third quarter compared with $278.3 million during the third quarter last year, and $203.8 million in the second quarter of the current fiscal year.

Carleton University Library contracts with A-G Canada, Ltd. for Bibliographic Data Upgrade Services. Pomona, CA., March 12, 2001. Auto-Graphics, a provider of Application Service Provider (ASP) services for libraries announced that its subsidiary A-G Canada Ltd. has been awarded the Carleton University Library contract for Bibliographic Data Upgrade Services. The project will upgrade bibliographic data output from the CATSUP cataloguing system developed by the Carleton University Library. Approximately 900,000 monograph and serial bibliographic records will be upgraded and fully authority controlled using the A-G Canada resource databases.

Loughborough University Joins Growing Ex Libris Customer Base in the British Isles. March 12, 2001 - London, England. Loughborough University today signed a contract with Ex Libris (UK) for the replacement of the University Library`s current Talis system with the latest version of ALEPH 500. This agreement represents the latest adoption of ALEPH 500 by a major academic library in the British Isles, after recent orders from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the National University of Ireland, Galway.

Data Research Associates Announces First Quarter Results. St. Louis, MO, January 18, 2001. Data Research Associates, Inc. announced today that revenues for its first quarter of fiscal 2001, ended December 31, 2000, were $5.7 million, compared with $6.5 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2000. The company reported a loss for the first quarter of fiscal 2001 of $205,000, or four cents per share basic and diluted, compared with earnings of $206,000, or four cents per share basic and diluted, for the same period in fiscal 2000.
